CURATOR'S NOTE
Hypnosis changes the character of the M249 by treating its silhouette as part of the graphic design. The key is the tension between Black and Blue: one attracts the eye, the other gives the painted and material contrast room to register. The result feels balanced and deliberate: recognisable at a glance, but detailed enough to reward a closer look.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
COLOUR MASS
Across the receiver and upper shroud, Hypnosis concentrates most of the Black. This is where the surface-specific graphic treatment reads most clearly and where the M249 gains its first visual anchor.
SMALLER INTERRUPTIONS
Along the stock and magazine housing, Blue creates the second layer of the composition. It breaks the Black mass without weakening the finish's overall identity. On this M249, that role is specific to Hypnosis.
SILHOUETTE EDGE
At the barrel, bipod and exposed hardware, Grey and the underlying construction become more visible. The quieter treatment frames the painted areas instead of competing with them.
