CURATOR'S NOTE
What makes Gator Mesh convincing is the relationship between colour, material and the M249's underlying geometry. Its surface-specific graphic treatment is carried by Yellow, then tempered by Green so the finish does not collapse into a single block of colour. It is the restraint between those elements—not sheer saturation—that gives the finish its character.

Yellow is most assertive on the receiver and upper shroud, turning that section into the visual anchor of Gator Mesh. The surface-specific graphic treatment is easiest to understand here.
SMALLER INTERRUPTIONS
The stock and magazine housing introduce Green as a counterweight. On Gator Mesh, that shift prevents Yellow from flattening the design and gives the painted and material contrast a more deliberate rhythm.
SILHOUETTE EDGE
The barrel, bipod and exposed hardware act as a visual release point: Black and exposed material reduce the density of Gator Mesh and sharpen the boundary between finish and hardware.
