CURATOR'S NOTE

The appeal of Astrolabe comes from how deliberately its surface treatment is distributed across the MP7. The Black passages establish the first read, while Brown controls the separation between sections; the surface-specific graphic treatment provides the identity. It is the restraint between those elements—not sheer saturation—that gives the finish its character.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
DOMINANT PASSAGE
Black is most assertive on the receiver body, turning that section into the visual anchor of Astrolabe. The surface-specific graphic treatment is easiest to understand here.
PATTERN CONTROL
Along the foregrip and magazine, Brown creates the second layer of the composition. It breaks the Black mass without weakening the finish's overall identity.
MATERIAL DEPTH
At the stock, barrel and controls, Grey and the underlying construction become more visible. The quieter treatment frames the painted areas instead of competing with them. On this MP7, that role is specific to Astrolabe.
