CURATOR'S NOTE

The strength of Rust Coat comes from restraint as much as colour. Brown establishes the identity, while Orange and Grey control the edges and negative space. On the Butterfly Knife, that balance follows this specific finish treatment especially well.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
LEAD COLOUR
On the Butterfly Knife, the blade face carries most of the Brown; in Rust Coat, this becomes the first area the eye reads and the clearest expression of the finish.
PATTERN CONTROL
Across the spine and tip, Rust Coat uses Orange to interrupt the main field. On this Butterfly Knife, that break gives the material-driven finish enough rhythm to stay legible.
STRUCTURAL FINISH
At the handle transition, Rust Coat becomes quieter. Grey and the underlying material define the boundary between painted surface and the Butterfly Knife's functional geometry.
