CURATOR'S NOTE

Rather than treating the Gut Knife as one continuous canvas, Doppler (Black Pearl) uses its separate surfaces deliberately. The result is a finish where Purple feels intentional, supported by Black and Blue. On the Gut Knife, that balance follows this specific finish treatment especially well.

DETAILS / CLOSE-UP

LEAD COLOUR

On the Gut Knife, the blade face carries most of the Purple; in Doppler (Black Pearl), this becomes the first area the eye reads and the clearest expression of the finish.

PATTERN CONTROL

Across the spine and tip, Doppler (Black Pearl) uses Black to interrupt the main field. On this Gut Knife, that break gives the colour-shifting surface treatment enough rhythm to stay legible.

STRUCTURAL FINISH

At the handle transition, Doppler (Black Pearl) becomes quieter. Blue and the underlying material define the boundary between painted surface and the Gut Knife's functional geometry.
