CURATOR'S NOTE
What makes Black Laminate convincing is the relationship between colour, material and the ★ Shadow Daggers's underlying geometry. Rather than spreading every colour evenly, the finish lets Black dominate and uses Brown to articulate the ★ Shadow Daggers's major breaks. The result feels quiet and controlled: recognisable at a glance, but detailed enough to reward a closer look.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
MAIN GESTURE
Black is most assertive on the twin blade faces, turning that section into the visual anchor of Black Laminate. The dark tonal blocking is easiest to understand here.
QUIETER SUPPORT
Along the spines and cutting edges, Brown creates the second layer of the composition. It breaks the Black mass without weakening the finish's overall identity.
EDGE DETAIL
At the handles and pommels, Grey and the underlying construction become more visible. The quieter treatment frames the painted areas instead of competing with them. On this ★ Shadow Daggers, that role is specific to Black Laminate.
