CURATOR'S NOTE

What makes Scorched convincing is the relationship between colour, material and the ★ Skeleton Knife's underlying geometry. The key is the tension between Black and Grey: one attracts the eye, the other gives the painted and material contrast room to register. It is the restraint between those elements—not sheer saturation—that gives the finish its character.

COLOUR MASS

Across the blade face, Scorched concentrates most of the Black. This is where the surface-specific graphic treatment reads most clearly and where the ★ Skeleton Knife gains its first visual anchor.

SMALLER INTERRUPTIONS

The spine and cutting edge introduce Grey as a counterweight. On Scorched, that shift prevents Black from flattening the design and gives the painted and material contrast a more deliberate rhythm. On this ★ Skeleton Knife, that role is specific to Scorched.

SILHOUETTE EDGE

At the handle and pommel, Brown and the underlying construction become more visible. The quieter treatment frames the painted areas instead of competing with them. On this ★ Skeleton Knife, that role is specific to Scorched.
