CURATOR'S NOTE
On the M4A1-S, Knight works through hierarchy: one visual idea leads, the rest supports it. Rather than spreading every colour evenly, the finish lets Black dominate and uses Grey to articulate the M4A1-S's major breaks. It is the restraint between those elements—not sheer saturation—that gives the finish its character.

VISUAL ANCHOR
The receiver and handguard carry the strongest Black passage in Knight. On the M4A1-S, that concentration gives the finish a clear centre of gravity before the eye moves outward.
COLOUR TRANSITION
The stock and magazine introduce Grey as a counterweight. On Knight, that shift prevents Black from flattening the design and gives the low-sheen coated surface a more deliberate rhythm.
HARDWARE CONTRAST
Near the suppressor and exposed hardware, the finish steps back. Brown becomes the final accent, allowing the M4A1-S's physical construction to close the composition. On this M4A1-S, that role is specific to Knight.
