CURATOR'S NOTE
On the M249, Sleet works through hierarchy: one visual idea leads, the rest supports it. Its material-led texture is carried by Black, then tempered by Grey so the finish does not collapse into a single block of colour. The result feels mechanical and grounded: recognisable at a glance, but detailed enough to reward a closer look.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
MAIN GESTURE
The receiver and upper shroud carry the strongest Black passage in Sleet. On the M249, that concentration gives the finish a clear centre of gravity before the eye moves outward.
QUIETER SUPPORT
Along the stock and magazine housing, Grey creates the second layer of the composition. It breaks the Black mass without weakening the finish's overall identity.
EDGE DETAIL
The barrel, bipod and exposed hardware act as a visual release point: White and exposed material reduce the density of Sleet and sharpen the boundary between finish and hardware.
