CURATOR'S NOTE
Derailment changes the character of the MAC-10 by treating its silhouette as part of the graphic design. Here, Red supplies the visual weight and Orange gives the surface enough structure for the surface-specific graphic treatment to stay legible. Nothing needs to be exaggerated; the palette and surface treatment already create a strong visual signature.
DETAILS / CLOSE-UP
DOMINANT PASSAGE
Across the upper receiver and body, Derailment concentrates most of the Red. This is where the surface-specific graphic treatment reads most clearly and where the MAC-10 gains its first visual anchor.
PATTERN CONTROL
Along the grip and magazine, Orange creates the second layer of the composition. It breaks the Red mass without weakening the finish's overall identity.
MATERIAL DEPTH
At the wire stock and front assembly, Teal and the underlying construction become more visible. The quieter treatment frames the painted areas instead of competing with them.
